TODAY (MAR. 04): Has Kanye West Matured?
THE FACTS:
• Kanye West has defended Spanish fashion house Balenciaga for denying him a seat at its exclusive Parisian show.
THE SPIN:
Kanye West was denied something and didn’t throw a temper tantrum? Heavens to megatroid! Is someone growing up? Possibly. The multi-platinum Grammy-winning award artist was denied access to the Balenciaga fashion show during Paris Fashion Week because designers felt his hip-hop image was not right for the show. What? Did they think the suburban man-bag-carrying college dropout was going to shoot-up the place? Anyway, instead of throwing a hissy fit, Kanye actually defended their snub. He says "I totally love and respect any designer that won't let me come to their show. It's their show. They don't owe me anything.” He sure doesn’t say that at award shows. He went on to add, "Balenciaga is one of the illest lines right now and I don't feel any type of way about not getting in! There's always a catch 22 in being a celeb - your motives are always questioned - but only time will show my true love." Either he’s grown up or he realizes that unlike award show producers, these designers don’t need him for ratings. Oh well, one less temper tantrum, the better.
