City officials may be promising a new New Orleans, but the same old, same old seems to apply to the NOPD. Always known for its corruption, the New Orleans police force allegedly made R&B singer Tank its latest victim. The singer, born Durrell Babbs, is claiming he was tasered and arrested early Sunday morning due to police brutality. Apparently he and his date named Ira Dewitt were being harassed by police outside of the House of Blues, and when Tank asked them to stop, he was tasered and taken into custody. The singer’s camp also claims the police officers made s*xual comments about Dewitt.
