TODAY (JAN. 30): Beyonce Breaks the Mold in New Film Role
THE FACTS:
• Beyonce has signed on to portray Etta James in the film, Cadillac Records.
THE SPIN:
The Beyonce machine continues to run full throttle as the multi-tasking pop phenom has signed on to her latest film role. Beyonce has decided to get out of her comfort zone and play yet another singer. Clearly Beyonce is always up for a challenge. Beyonce will portray soul legend Etta James in the film, Cadillac Records. The film explores Chicago in the 1950s and charts the lives of several musical legends. Beyonce joins an already star-studded cast that features Oscar-winner Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright and Cedric the Entertainer. Personally, though Etta isn’t known for tattoos, I would have looked to Keyshia Cole to portray Etta James. She’s been looking like her long-lost daughter since her sophomore album dropped.
