• Kelly Rowland spoke with U.K.’s The Mirror about her fall last year during a performance in Lagos, Nigeria.
THE SPIN:
Last summer Kelly Rowland collapsed on stage while performing in Nigeria. It was speculated that her fall was spurred by dehydration, but several months after the fact, Kelly spoke with U.K.’s The Mirror about the real reason for the fall. She told the paper, "I was exhausted. Not only that, but the time difference threw me off and I was jet-lagged. I stayed up all night talking on the phone and didn't eat as well."
Footage of her fall has become a YouTube favorite for many. It’s one of those things you’re not supposed to laugh at, due to fear of falling in fire when you pass on, but you can’t help it. It’s nice of her to speak on it. I would rather hear her address her catastrophic fall from the charts, though.
