TODAY (DEC. 06): Usher’s Wife: “Black Women Don’t Like Themselves”
THE FACTS:
• In an interview with Essence magazine, Usher’s new wife, Tameka Raymond, speaks out against critics.
THE SPIN:
Black women, Tameka Foster-Raymond has some words for you. After facing scrutiny over her and Usher’s age difference and the circumstances of their relationship, in addition to being the butt of many jokes online, Foster-Raymond has this to say about her critics: "We (Black women) don't like ourselves. If I were Hispanic, Usher would have the s*xiest wife alive. If I were mixed, he'd have the s*xiest wife alive. But he has a Black girl, and it's like, 'She's horrible and she's ugly!' "OK, maybe I don't fit the cookie-cutter standard - 25 and a size two - but this is who he loves.”
Don’t fret Black women, I got your back. Tameka, people don't like you because you make asinine comments like this. Why are you generalizing Black women? Do you think that’s going to bring peace and harmony among you all? Did it ever occur to you that maybe people “attack” you because you and Usher supposedly started your relationship while you were still married? Or maybe because reports surfaced that Usher’s mother – who we all know is very close to her son – didn’t approve of your union?
I mean, folks cut Chilli some slack, so maybe it’s just you, Tameka. By the way, being Hispanic hasn’t done much for Vanessa Bryant’s reputation in the eyes of many women.
Then again, why does any of this matter to you when there are so many more things to talk about. Congrats on marrying rich and the new baby. Now enjoy marital bliss -- in private.
