TODAY (NOV. 29): The Jackson 5 to reunite?
THE FACTS:
• Jermaine Jackson claims the Jackson 5 will reunite for a tour next year.
THE SPIN:
It seems talk of a Jackson 5 reunion has gone on almost as long their actual career. The brothers - including Randy – haven’t toured since 1984, the same year I was born. But, apparently they’re going to reunite for real this time. Yeah, I’ll believe it when I see the Pepsi commercial on YouTube.
Jermaine told the BBC 6Music "We feel we have to do it one more time. We owe that to the fans and to the public."
They owe it more to their creditors.
When asked if Michael will be involved, Jermaine said, "He has to be, he is a Jackson. He was at the meetings. Michael will be involved."
Jermaine has been saying that for years now, but I suppose he’s going with the logic that if you repeat something over and over again eventually it will come true.
With Jermaine owing thousands in back child support and alimony, and Michael owing something on nearly every continent of the world, for their sake, I hope they do reunite for a tour. If I were them I’d name this reunion the “Pay My Bills” tour.
