• Trey Songz was arrested Saturday night for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
THE SPIN:
Some celebrities seem to think the moment they achieve some level of notoriety that they magically become untouchable once they utter the ego-driven phrase, “Do you know who I am?” Funny thing is, the type of celebrity first to mouth that five-word tribute to delusions of grandeur is usually the one that’s somewhere between D-List.
Trey Songz - obviously on a high from the first hit of his career - just got his real Negro wake-up call after being arrested on Saturday night in Springfield, Mass. Police officers were investigating a shot fired in the parking lot of a venue where Trey performed. Trey, who has seemingly watched too much New York Undercover when he was younger, tried to interject himself onto the crime scene investigation. When police told him to back away, he responded with those ill-fated words, “Do you know who I am?”
I know who you are baby R. Kelly, but it’s not like you’re Usher. You’re not even Omarion yet, so they probably didn’t have a clue who you were and they obviously didn’t care. No word on whether or not he performed “Can’t Help But Wait” while he waited for his bail to be posted.
