TODAY (NOV. 06): Gary Coleman’s Desperation Hits eBay

THE FACTS:
• Gary Coleman is selling a signed copy of Nintendo’s GameCube console on eBay.

THE SPIN:
If only someone had called Child Protection Services on Gary Coleman’s parents sooner. Maybe then he would still have a fraction of the millions he earned for repeating “Whatcha talkin’ ‘bout, Willis?” over and over again. I feel bad for him. It must really suck to go from being a pop culture icon to a mall security guard. Now the only time I see him on TV is in some commercial for a loan with an interest rate as high as Star Jones’ old weight.

And that’s actually the highlight of this decade for him thus far. Just when you think it couldn’t get any worse for Gary, it does. To earn a little bit of extra cash (that Wonder bread isn’t going to pay for itself), Gary is selling a signed copy of his Nintendo GameCube. At last count, the highest bid was $162.50.

Why would anyone want a signed copy of a GameCube from Gary Coleman? He’s not Japanese, so he had no hand in developing the game console, and I don’t recall him releasing a video game, so what gives? Is his autograph supposed to up the value? Maybe if the console was called Atari.

If you feel like wasting money, then head on over to eBay and place your bid. Expect Todd Bridges to sell autographed boxes of Duke Kit soon.

YOUR SPIN: What could Coleman sign that would be worth $160?
