THE SPIN (Daily Dose of Celebrity News): COOLIO BOOKS REALITY SHOW
Get into The Spin everyday as TV One’s Online blogger, Michael Arceneaux brings you daily doses of celeb gossip and news.
TODAY (NOV. 02): Coolio Books Reality Show
THE FACTS:
• Coolio has signed on for a new reality series.
THE SPIN:
Do you remember Coolio? If you don’t, that’s completely understandable. I remember more of a feeling than the actual artist. Like I remember “Gangster’s Paradise” being played over and over again until I hated the two words for about a year, but I can’t remember anything else about Coolio. Oh, I have one: I remember Michelle Pfeiffer being in Coolio’s video. That should count for something, right?
Well, like most forgotten stars of yester-decade, Coolio is seeking to reinvent himself i.e. become relevant again so he can probably pay his car note with a new reality show on the Oxygen network. From “Gangster’s Paradise” to starring in programming geared for women. Time has not been kind to Coolio.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Coolio & The Gang will show Coolio “balancing his life as a family man with his rap career and launching his own clothing line.”
He hasn’t had a hit in more than a decade, and clothing lines by relevant rappers are suffering. No wonder the network has only ordered six episodes.
