TODAY (OCT. 23): Kelly’s Tour in Danger?
THE FACTS:
• Kelly Rowland’s planned North American tour is rumored to be headed towards cancellation amid several tour date cancellations.
THE SPIN:
Did you know Kelly Rowland was going on tour? If you didn’t - which I’m sure goes for the majority of you - it doesn’t matter since most of the dates have already been cancelled anyway. Kelly, along with the former teen crooner turned ‘serious adult artist’ (you know, since he got a gym membership), Mario, planned a tour where the two would perform in small arenas across the country -- or so they thought.
Dates in Hollywood, San Francisco and Seattle have all been cancelled due to low ticket sales. Now rumors are swirling that the entire tour will be axed.
I don’t think this is what she meant when she said she was going to “bump like this.”
I feel really bad for Kelly. I don’t want her to end up selling knock off House of Dereon at some flea market. At the same time, I can’t say that I’m surprised given her lackluster promotion. She needs a new manager, a working backbone and more drive. If all else fails, maybe Kelly should take note from those Make-A-Wish commercials and master the art of begging. She can start with begging Alicia Keys to let her open for her during HER tour.
