TODAY (OCT. 9): Obama Disses Paris Hilton, Sorta
• On a recent appearance on the Tyra Banks show, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama revealed his daughter shuns Paris Hilton and all connected businesses.
THE SPIN:
Just when I lose a bit of faith in the generation of tomorrow, I read a story about a young child with common sense and become inspired. While dishing with model turned talk show host, Tyra Banks, Barack Obama, talked about his nine-year-old daughter, Malia, being particular about the types of hotels her family patronizes.
"This isn't a Hilton hotel, is it?" he said his 9-year-old daughter, Malia, will ask when the family tours the country. He said his media savvy daughter keeps up with the news and does not approve of Paris Hilton.
Isn’t that wonderful? That’s one less person that’s solely famous for their last name that I have to worry about. I remember being 9 thinking, “Mary J. Blige should be a little nicer to the radio people.” so I can relate to Malia.
When quizzed on what’s on his iPod, the Illinois senator said you can find Jay-Z, Miles Davis, classical music, and even a little salsa.
I would donate to his campaign if I could get him to recite the first couple of lines of “Big Pimpin’” or watch him throw up the Roc. Oh come on – some of you are thinking it, too. We should gather our money together.
Who should play him in a biography of his life (because we know it will happen eventually)? He said Denzel Washington could play him, though he added that the way his ears stick out it may have to be Will Smith.
My fellow big-eared brother, I understand.
