TODAY (Oct. 8): Plummer Offers "Down-Low" Advice
THE FACTS:
• In an interview with TV One Access, Jonathan Plummer, ex-husband of author Terry McMillan, discussed his new book, Balancing Act, and shared his thoughts on what women can do if they find themselves in a similar predicament as Plummer and McMillan.
THE SPIN:
Jonathan Plummer has advice for some of you ladies out there caught up in ‘down low’ paranoia. Formally known as the inspiration behind author Terry McMillian’s novel, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, and more recently identified as the cause of McMillian’s rage, Plummer has decided to enter the literary world with his own book, Balancing Act.
While promoting his new novel, which he says draws experiences from his own struggles with coming to gripes with his s*xuality, Plummer’s now spreading the word on what women can do to find out if their suspicions that they married a gay man are true.
So what kind of advice did Plummer offer? Something juicy like hiring a private investigator? What about tailing his car or maybe checking his email and voicemail without him knowing? Yeah, not so much.
“All I can say to women is just like if you have any speculations just ask the person that you are with,” Plummer told TV One Access.
That’s it? Yawn. I could’ve said that.
He also added: “Just tell them to be honest and let them know that it is OK to be who you are.”
He’s trying to sell a book and all we get is a rehash of the adage, ‘Honesty is the best policy?’ I was expecting so much more. This is what I get for watching too much TV.
