THE SPIN (Daily Dose of Celebrity News): O.J. LOSES, AGAIN
Get into The Spin everyday as TVONEONLINE blogger, Michael Arceneaux brings you daily doses of celeb gossip and news.
TODAY (Oct. 4): O.J. LOSES, AGAIN
THE FACTS:
• A judge has ruled that O.J. Simpson must hand over his Rolex watch to satisfy a civil judgment that found him liable for the deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
• Also, any future royalties from a sports video game must be turned over, as well as any of the disputed memorabilia items seized by Las Vegas authority.
THE SPIN:
If you’re O.J. Simpson, you may be channeling Florida Evans in the episode of "Good Times" where James died. After his book was canned only to be re-published with Simpson being stripped of any additional royalties, he was arrested and charged with robbery, kidnapping, and other charges. Now Simpson’s wrist is about to feel lighter after being ordered by the Superior Court Judge Gerald Rosenberg to turn over his Rolex as a part of a settlement with the family of Ron Goldman.
But will O.J. have the last laugh? Though Goldman’s lawyer expects the watch to be valued anywhere between $5,000 and $20,000 Simpson’s lawyer is skeptical that the Rolex is real – saying Simpson told him that he paid only $125 for it.
Folex or not, Simpson is out of some amount of money. That reads as a loss to me.
Fred Goldman is on a mission to get every bit of the multi-million dollar settlement from the civil judgment issued ten years ago. It’s almost like he’s the pimp and O.J. is his…well, you get the idea.
YOUR SPIN: Should O,J. be giving up everything he owns for the settlement or is he entitled to have some luxuries? Post YOUR comment below.
