• John Legend is complaining about the criticism he’s received for dating models.
THE SPIN:
Poor John Legend. He just can’t seem to catch a break -- or at least, that’s what he would have you believe. Speaking with the New York Daily News, the soul crooner complained about criticism he’s received about his penchant for models. Legend is currently dating the Thai-Norwegian model, Christine Leigen, whom he met on the set of his video for the single, “Stereo.” Before Leigen, he dated Brazilian model, Danielle Abreu. Speaking on the new top model in his life, Legend told the Daily News, “People are automatically condescending. They expect her to be dumb and say, 'Oh you're just dating a dumb girl because she's hot.' But people judge you either way. If you're dating a girl who's kind of regular, you hear, 'Why are you dating her?' I don't get caught up in it. I'm more concerned with my happiness."
I guess he told us. That whole diatribe translates into this: “We’re just all ordinary people, though I try not to date any.” Models make him happy, so why is he whining that people have picked up on that? Just say, “Yes, I’m using my celebrity to land flawlessly beautiful women” and leave it alone. It’s cool, John. Be easy.
