PEACE BE STILL
It is apparent this is the perfect blog because I have wrestled with it for days for it to post on the front page and it wouldn't work.
In the midst of one of the biggest storms in my 15+ year marriage I attended our mid week Bible Talk at First St. John (which by the way is the crunkest 'loving God in all His Glory' church in Fort Worth). My Bishop was teaching about the Heart of a Shepherd. He was talking about how in his 10 years at the church he had gotten so close to the members that he felt they were his members. He said he would hurt when we hurt and be overjoyed when we were overjoyed. He said that in his prayer time with God, he was reminded of something. He said God placed it in his heart 'clearly' to not forget that the people are HIS people. Bishop said if he loved us like the man he is, then it would be easy to get angry at us and maybe even hurt us. He said that God reminded him to love us (his congregation and everyone else) the way HE loves us. UNCONDITIONALLY
This was perfect timing. I took this Bible Talk to heart and literally left in tears realizing that God had blessed me with my husband and He wants me to love my husband the way HE would love him. UNCONDITIONALLY
HE wanted me to remember that our relationship is to be spiritual just as my relationship with HIM. If I look at my God-given husband with my Spiritual eyesight, then he is wonderful. He is what God says he is. He is made in HIS image and I love him with all my heart.
Love your spouse the way God loves him or her. Look at your spouse with your Spiritual eyesight. It will make getting through the storms (that will come) much easier.
Storms are here to remind us where our help comes from (HIM) and to give us a true testimony for others.
