Children’s Theatre Camp presents “Sleeping Beauty”
The Children’s Theatre Camp at Texas Southern University will present the popular children’s fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2006.
The production is directed by graduating senior theatre student Miriam Glover. Glover has been admitted into the charter class of the MFA acting program at the University of Southern California (USC) for fall 2006. After international auditions, only 12 students were chosen for this prestigious program.
Glover, who also excelled in directing as a student at TSU, has creatively changed the script to showcase the talented campers who are in the show. The campers range in ages from 6 to 14, and are all gifted in dance, singing and acting.
TSU Theatre Camp also offers art, piano and dance as part of its daily schedule and is annually held in July. The camp director is Dianne Jemison-Pollard, professor of theatre at the University.
