CNN Acknowledges Power Of The Blogger During Conventions

How many BLOG spots can you name? Wow, Social sites have taken off as the world of Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 evolve. One of the great marks of Social Networking is the BLOG. Sound kinda like you're getting ready to say : THE BLOB. Remeber the Blob? That shapeless creature that came out of the swampy nowhere and begin to devour anything, everything and everybody in it's path. Seems that no matter how slow the Blob moved people just couldn't get out of it's path quick enough to not be overtaken and become a happy meal on feet.

Hmmm, that kinda sounds like what a Blog is too don't it? Something kinda shapeless that seems to come out of the swampy nowhere of the intenet and begins to take over your computer. You're either overrun by the sheer number of blogs you read or overrun by the shear number of blogs that you've found yourself writing articles or tidbits of information on. We blog about anything, everything and everybody. From how much lint Joe Bob found in his girlfrends bellybutton one friday night to the state of the Republican and Democratic Conventions.

Was it me or did anybody else see the mighty and powerful CNN, yes CNN, actually have a pundit take time out to report on what was being blogged on Twitter and I believe it was Digg? CNN reporting on what was being BLOGGED on the internet! Who woulda thunk it? KInda makes one reflect on that scene from GhostBusters where Bill Murray is ranting about how unthinkable things would be happening and cats and dogs getting along yada yada yada.....The times are definitely changed....

But I digress for a moment of humor might I remind you and that's what blogging is about. Being able to share what's going on in your little corner of the world with other people to illicit a response and see what they think as they peer out of their newspaper covered windows at the world around them as it goes steadily by. Oh, okay, not fair to those who blog 24 hours a day. They can't help it if they have such a wonderful life and are exposed to so much that they have to spend 24 hours a day everyday blogging about it. Besides, what would we have to talk about at the water cooler if they didn't blog the events and happenings of the world? I'm still in shock about the CNN breaking away during their "after the Democratic Convention night" coverage toW talk about what the bloggers were saying.

CNN really had their finger on the pulse of America when they did that. Don't get me wrong, I understand what CNN was doing and it is a good thing to see that a section of our society is being reached and moved in ways that it hasn't been before. Many young folks have become a part of the voting process that generations before them kinda shunned and the involvement is at a deep level, more than just registering and going to vote on election day. No, they are rallying and recruiting. Having debates among their peers. Opening dialogues with older Americans, business people, teachers and the everyday folks to find out what can we do to make this process work for all of us before, during and after the election?

CNN's seeming innocous inclusion of the Bloggers shed light on a tool and a segment of society that has become a force to be reckoned with. No longer can politicians gloss over their message to the younger generations. Doors that were once closed are being knocked down as young people get their feet wet at the grassroots level and demand of those who seek politic office, accountability. Speeches will be remembered. Promises will be expected to be kept. Actions must be taken. Everything said will be shared across that great blob called the internet and it will be dissected and revisited to be sure that those who made those statements are held to their statements and produce what they said they would produce.

At the same time, that record will serve as a reminder that those blogging and reading the blog have a responsibilithy as well. Each word written is a mandate for blog junkies to take action. To get up from their computers and register those who aren' t registered. To help those who can't get to the poles to vote. To lend a hand to help make the promise of America the reality of America. To be fully vested in the future of our great country and to make that future possible. The blog nation will be challenged to hold true to what it blogs about and to secure it's place in future elections and decisions the blog nation will have to accomplish measurable goals.

Talk is cheap used to be the saying. Well, today I say that blogging is cheap. Anybody can blog. But what are you doing with your blog? Are you sharing information with folks or just rambling on? Are you challenging yourself or just challenging everbody else while you hide in the shadows of your monitor? What does blogging lead you to do for your fellow American and the dreams they hold dear?

For me, I have created a website for those who have been disenfranchised from the normal workforce by disabling pains. Arthritis, Sciatica, Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Back, Neck, Wrist, Leg and other pains that have put millions of Americans on the disabled list and their dreams the deferred list. Everything I find, I share with anybody who wants to read it. Information that they don't have to pay for. I write about it since I live it. The stories, tips, articles and proven methods for living a healthier, happier less pain filled lifestyle. http://www.vinicent-d-holland.4t.com I also give access to products and other higher level educational and beneficial information on that site for those who want to take tolerating their pains better to another level. It's all there and each time I blog I remind people that I'm doing my little part to make living in pain more bearable. I'm trying to reach anybody that wants to be reached.

I add pictures, videos and online games to entertain and distract people from the pain flareups when they need an escape but don't want to burden their family. I try to make people laugh as many times I have heard that laughter is a great medicine. So, I am moved to do something and I want to do more just like many of the bloggers who are reading this blog and who have blogs of their own. Together we can share experiences and make life better for each of us. The strength of the WHOLE is what makes American strong. We are a nation of many who come together as one. We have proven that when we come together, we can accomplish anything.

Fellow bloggers, I encourage you and I pray for strength for all of us to go forward and do what we know we must do to help our great country, our families and our friends. GOD Bless us all.
