“The Movie of My Life”

For the first time in my life, I feel like I finally got the upper hand on the situation with the major help from God. Have you ever stood there and took all you could from a person and it was burning you up inside because you couldn’t say what you wanted to say to that person? Well, welcome to the world that I call life.

“All my life I had to fight. I had to fight my daddy. I had to fight my uncles. I had to fight my brothers. A girl child ain't safe in a family of men, but I ain't never thought I'd have to fight in my own house!” – Sophia –The Color Purple

I felt just like Sophia always fighting to get my voice heard or just to get my point across, but I had to stop fighting so much. I guess what I am trying to say that I was fighting myself, but no more. Sometimes it’s hard when all you want to do is listen to yourself, but this time I played the game different. I put my thoughts, pains, and words on mute and I finally listen to what some else had to say. Wow, I should have listened to you from the start, than I wouldn’t be so mad at the world. On the flip side I want to say “Thank You!”

“You know what your problem is? You don't live enough for today.”- Taye Diggs- The Best Man

I totally agree with you Taye. I was living such in the past that I forgot all about today. So, what I learn that I have to take the time to cherish today and enjoy everything about it. Take the time to spend with your family, chill with a friend, party hop with your fraternity brothers, go to the mall and buy yourself something, and just look at the positive things that today has to offer.

“Maybe you just don't see me for who I am.” –Denna Jones – Beyonce - Dream Girls

There are so many times in life that were neglect who were are just to please certain people. It funny you forgot how you used to smile and didn’t have a care in the world. Whatever happened to that person who was top of everything? You may have lost your Robin, but sometimes it’s good to be Batman and return to the bat cave alone. Just like Deena Jones, you are going to listen not to my words, but the melody that is in my heart, because I will not be prisoner in my own home. Sometime others just have to realize who you are and take as you are.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. – Celie – The Color Purple
