God is Preparing Me and He May Be Preparing You!

VICSKEYAS MOORE · Tuesday, May 16th 2006 at 1:46PM · 968 views
When I decided to give up some things in my life that wer unhealthy for my physical and spiritual well-being, I really had to pray. I wondered, what was I doing...giving up sodas or cutting off friends who were unhealthy or giving up s*x..... 'Lord', I said, 'What if he is really fine...and I can't help myself.' God explained to me that he was preparing me for something bigger than the now. It is funny but we often live for today. Now no, it is nothing wrong with that, but our fleshman is fed on a daily basis and we do not realize that the things that are going into our spirits are not always healthy and most times we are aware of this but we figure 'hey...God will forgive me.' Which is true but only if you are truly apologetic for what you have done.

We do not realize it but when we let go of the flesh, God is able to come in and truly bless us. I have been struggling from many habits that I have acquired over the years and when I let things go, blessing began to come my way. What I have learned from this is that God was preparing me for the blessings I have received thus far and as I continue to walk in Him, He will continue to prepare me for greater things. What is God preparing you for? It may be a house, a new car, a husband/wife, a new friendship, a child, or a financial blessing.....but know this if you continue to walk in the flesh....those blessing may not come because you are not allowing God to prepare you.

We must also remember that I blessing come as WE bless others. I know, sometimes it is hard to give up that favorite sweater to sista 'so and so' or to put 20.00 in the hand of brotha 'no-name', but believe me...you never know what a person is going through and that helping hand, that piece of advice or those few dollars can make a difference in someone's life. You may not think that five dollars is a lot of money, but it is to a single parent who doesn't have a penny to put in their gas tank. Now I am not saying that you should seek out people to bless them so that you can be bless but God has shown me through the years that as we bless others, He will bless us.

Know that you cannot do it alone. Whatever you are going through, you need God. Most of US(me included) try to do things on our own. We think that We got our jobs, because WE went to school and WE got a degree....but I realize that if it weren't for God.......I would not have my degree right now, if it were not for God, I would probably be still be working through a temp agency, with no benefits for me or my son. I am thankful everyday I am above ground! I pray continously and thank God for my current blessing and the blessing that are yet to come. You can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens You.....remember that!!!!

Stay Blessed

One Love

Very good post. I believe that I, too, may need to let go of the flesh. As you stated, it is hard, but with the right attitude and the knowing of your future blessings, it is well worth the wait. Continue to post these inspirational blogs...they truly inspire me. Thanks! Many blessings..much luv

Awesome and so on point my sista and you are so right we rely on "ME" and what "I" have done failing to realize that every step was ordered by God. We are in a "selfish" society that teaches us to look out for yourself and forget everyone else (including family) but Jesus teaches us that one of his major commands to us is to "Love" other people and that includes people we don't know and enemies...we are supposed to show love.

We must be sensitive to the spirit to know "when" to sow into other's lives for instance we know a couple that is being kicked out of the military (the husband is) and they have two kids already and have a baby on the way in a couple of months. We are planning on sowing into their lives this weekend a significant amount and we know that as we bless them in the midst of their storm that the Lord in turn is going to turn around and bless us...we don't do it for the blessings though--we do it because of LOVE and wanting to help our others out that may need it. We know that God is going to take care of them, but we must also be obedient and do our part.
