HOWARD INFO!!!
Hello everyone!!!
For all of you who didn't know, I went to Howard's Spring Open House on Friday April 14, 2006. It was very informative and they discussed a variety of very important subjects pertaining to incoming freshman. Lucky for you all who weren't able to attend, I took some notes.
Room assignments:
-Room assignments should be made by May 18th.
-ChecK your Bisonweb account frequently for more info
-Move-in day is August 19, 2006
-RSVP (info from howard.edu) The Room Selection and Verification Plan (RSVP) is a system designed to provide eligible students with an opportunity to request their preferred space in one of the University Residence Halls. All undergraduate students seeking accommodation for the upcoming academic year must participate in RSVP and follow all of the procedures as outlined in the RSVP package, which can be found online at the Office of Residence Life website during the fall semester. A $200 housing deposit is required to be eligible to participate. (The housing deposit fee is subject to change).
Other Info:
-Make sure you take your Math Placement test ASAP. (try to take it before May 1st)
-Send in your Medical Forms
-Make sure your counselor sends in your FINAL TRANSCRIPTS!!
-Get a Howard e-mail address
-Donor Based Scholarship available April 19th- May 19th (howard.edu/financialaid)
-Make sure that you get the names of anyone you speak to over the phone when contacting Howard University
-Make sure you make a copy of everything you send in to the University. They are known for misplacing your paperwork.
-If your parents already have you on their health insurance, maintain that insurance instead of purchasing University insurance. (howard.edu/studenthealth)
Hopefully this information helped. If you have any additional questions, just contact me on myspace via e-mail or comment (Ms. Jones) or you can e-mail me on this site. See you all this fall and keep in touch. ~Stay Blessed~
