Hey HBCU Fam! The National Reparations Convention was excellent. Many beautiful Black folks convened in Chicago for two days of outstanding presentations. On Day 1 Dr. Wade Noble, noted Black psychologist, broke down the psychological effects of slavery and the post slavery American experience and how it is seen the behavior of Black folks. It was HEAVY! He was followed up by noted Black economist Dr. Claud Anderson who spoke on the economic effects of slavery and his Plan for Detroit.

What are some of y'all take on REPARATIONS???

As hard as we press the government for reparations, the outcome is still the same. I think the way to be able to receive money is to own businesses to begin with. Maybe we should invest in purchasing places or landmarks that play apart of our history, whether being slave homes or etc.

Great Blog and God Bless

Reparations mean to repair damage. The reparations movement is beyond requesting some type of check. Our institutions need much repair. The conditions that Black Americans are in are a direct result of slavery, Jim Crow and the intentional stifling of our existence here (Black Codes, legal discriminations, etc.). When we had viable communities like Tulsa and Rosewood they were terrorized. We can go on and on. Reparations is a topic that we need to discuss.
