Heck yeah and loved every minute of it! I competed in vocal classical and contemporary and sang the alto solo in ACT-SO. I'm going back this year.

Act-so is the Afro-Academic Cultural Technological & Scientific Olympics. Its sponsored by the NAACP. High school students from around the country can compete in up to 3 of the 25 different categories available. There are the sciences (chemistry, physics,etc), poetry, drawing, & a whole bunch of other ones. Students first compete at the local level then if they receive gold locally, they get to compete at the National competition, which is held during the Naacp national convention
