Why do people do dumb things?

I always hate when I turn on the news and hear about someone who committed a dumb crime. I get even more upset when the person is black. Our people are already stereotyped as criminals so I hate it when we do things that add to these racist beliefs. We've been called ignorant for decades, yet we do things that make other races feel that this is true about us. About ten minutes ago my suite mates and I discovered that someone had egged the door to our suite!! How stupid was that? I know people egg doors as Halloween pranks, but this is ridiculous! We're not outside, that egg didn't land in any grass!! So we had to go clean up the egg from our door and our floor. We're in college now, we need to grow up!! We degrade ourselves by some of the things that we do. We have to remember that the actions of one person is reflected upon our race as a whole. Please, please, please, stop giving members of other races a reason to look down on us!!!
