Poem I wrote, hope it touches someone

This is a poem I wrote today while watching the news. I dedicate it to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Life & Death
Take a minute to take a breath
And visualize the difference between life and death
Feel your heart beat for one last time
What are the thoughts going through your mind?

Do you think of your family or your friends first?
Do you accept your fate or does the thought make you hurt?
Do you have enough time to say all your farewells?
Do you prepare yourself to go to Heaven or Hell?

Is this the time when you say a long prayer?
Or beg to God for your life to be spared?
Do you cry silently or let the world hear your pain?
Or do you weep because you lived life as a game.

Take a minute to take a breath
And visualize the difference between life and death.
You’re still alive, so live your life
Because death could come in the blink of an eye.

Disaster and death came too fast for the Hurricane Katrina victims. Live is too short yall, so live everyday to the fullest. Special prayers to the victims- stay strong, help is coming. God Bless!
