Keeping it real~!

We have all heard the term 'just keeping it real" well what does that really mean? Does it mean it is ok to say what you want to someone without any thought about how that might make them feel or how it might effect them emotionally? I am in no way advocating that we lie or we are dishonest with others about their behaviors. But I am saying "keeping it real" might really be about you and how you are feeling at the moment (angry, frustrated, embarressed, hurt, jealous etc) than about helping somone else. I must admit, I have "kelp it real" and in the process lost relationships or seriously wounded a friend. (Please forgive me). I have had others to "keep it real with me" and I have been seriously wounded. So the next time you decide to simply "keep it real" count up the cost as to whether it is really worth is. My grandmama used to say" Somethings are best left unsaid" now that is Keeping it real".
