Put your money where your mouth is!

Remember the older people in our families use to say this? What they were really saying is spend your money and effort on the things you talk about and that you say are important. Alot of people talk about wanting the best for their children educationally but have not set any money aside to pay for their education. Well, I will wave my hand and have to admit I am one of those parents. There is no college fund for my son next year. So I have to put in my already tight budget a monthy allowance for him and also set aside money starting today to pay for books and misc. items. So if I am going to talk about the importance of obtaining a college degree I have to be willing to help pay for a college degree. Financial aid will help but parents will still be required to pay out of pocket expenses for the ACT/SAT, NCAA, college admission, dorm deposits, and books, laptops etc.

Parents before you buy the most up to date clothing and electronics for your high school senior make sure you put some money back for Aug when they walk on the "yard"! You are going to need some cash! But your money where your mouth is!
