ya'll didn't reply to saturdays post so i posted it again in hopes of gett'n some intellectual insight, so....

here's another one fa ya thoughts ya'll...let me know what's up.

now tell me if i'm tripp'n, but does anybody else find it awfully disturbing that the missing people of black america go unnoticed compared to the likes of Natalie Halloway and Lacey Peterson (ya'll know tha difference).....

i was watching "Dateline NBC" and finally came across the story of the beautiful black woman (who is expecting a child) that has been missing for sometime now. also, i came upon the story of Tameka Houston (resident of a small town in south carolina) who went missing in May. the way i find the situation disturbing is in the fact that the story is just now getting national coverage. Tameka's aunt has been trying to get coverage for weeks and weeks with major news stations like ABC, NBC, CNN, FOX and MSNBC. sadly, the story was denied by all these stations, even NBC at first. how in the world can we be called a nation as a whole when there's not as much compassion for one race as there is for another. it's ridiculious really. i mean, and then the producer of NBC gets asked about the whole situation...black vs. white and wheather or not race is an issue and he says, "no i don't THINK race is the issue here"...well if it ain't tha issue then what is? i know racism has been around since before i was born and it'll be here long after i'm gone, but why is it so hard to look past the color of someone's skin. i'm pray'n that everything is going to get better someday....

give me ur insight about tha situation....

i feel what your saying cause there was a little boy who went missing here and didn't get any air time until his body was found in the near by river. The black boy's mother has been going to the police when he was first missing and the police told her that he doesn't need air time cause he ran away from home and run aways usually dont want to be found. Now i was ok yeah run aways usually dont want to be found but the boy was like 8 and as far as i could see he was living the good life, i mean i wasn't there living with him but he look happy in the lil video that they showed, a couple days later he was found dead in the river because he was pushed and hit his head on a rock, not because he was kidnapped and killed. Its crazy it does seem like white people get more coverage on being missing rather than blacks. I heard about the beautiful black lady missing but im wondering why they had to mention she was beautiful to get people to notice she was missing.
Im out

Bill Clinton actually spoke on this. He said that it's sad that it's like this, but we have to get mad at the editors behind the papers, as they are the ones who decides on what runs. He said he hated the fact that Blacks don't get much coverage.

It's a racist world. A girl goes missing in Aruba and it's the center of attention for weeks and weeks. A Black woman goes missing in the nation and it's like, "So what?" It's a strange world we live in...
