
Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) welcomed its inaugural Honors Program class at an initiation ceremony on Friday, October 24th in the University’s Park Campus cafeteria. University administrators, faculty, staff, students and honorees’ families attended the event. The event’s keynote speaker was Kendal Francis, a media professional and founder/executive director of Blessed 26.

Adeola Ojo, Nigeria
Rashaad Randall, Slidell

The SUNO Honors Program accepts students who have applied to the university and who have satisfied the following requirements:
• Have graduated from high school having completed the Louisiana Board of Regents/TOPS Core Curriculum or having received the LA CORE 4 Academic endorsement,
• Received a cumulative high school GPA of B or better,
• Have scored a composite score of 21 or higher on the ACT or the SAT equivalent,
• Have demonstrated written communication skill through an original writing sample, and
• Have displayed leadership through school and community involvement.
