Let's Talk Politics (211 hits)

What' s up Fam?

Okay, so here in Memphis, we are in the middle of political races. Now, many of us(youngins) do not believe in voting. Many people believe that voting is useless and will do nothing to better or communities or our way of life and others are so out of touch with what is going on in the world, that voting is the fartherest thing from their minds. We need to vote people. And sure there are a lot of politicians who are not doing what they are supposed to do. For those of you from TN(Operation TN Waltz), but what about the people that are doing. There are community leaders that are working effortlessly for the people everyday, but when they run for political office...they are not voted for because they don't have a name to ride on. That is why it is important to review ALL candidates who are running for office. It is very simple...you can review their profiles and their stances on the internet or you may obtain information at the library. See if the issue that are important to you match with the platforms that the politicians are standing for. Always vote for the best candidate, do not just vote for a person because they are democrat or republican. All democrats do not always follow the "democratic way" of politicing and all republicans do not always follow the "republican way" of politicing. I remember my father always said to me when I was a little girl, 'If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.' When we don't vote, we are falling for whatever politician that is given to us. Many people complain about what is not getting done or how the politicians don't care, but you could have easily voted to get someone in office who does care by voting. Think about it.

Stay Blessed

One Love

Evil only survives when good folk sit back and do nothing from what people got killed back during the day in which they knew their lives were at stake and their loved ones...
People that don't vote are the ones that complain the most.
This is how one white female respectfully had prayer taken out of school and we see the same s*x rage of the land and other things voted into schools curriculums, but people don't want it in their back yards and then when it shows up in their children.
Many things people need to learn are a domino affect into multiple realms of our lives.
Yes a right to vote or not, yes people are people, laws get corrupted, inequality happens, so what does one do about it?
Thats where Your heart and convictions are placed on display...
Deep blog and thought provoking question.
Keep up the good work and hey lets keep paying these rising gas prices, I mean voting don't matter anyway and we all have money to burn, especially the younger generation getting ready to graduate and be out on their own away from mommy and daddy...

Oh I forgot Bush and Cheney are gas/oil men.
Don't worry about the war it does not affect minorities and hey Katrina was all peoples fault that lived through Jim Crow Laws, Lynchings, burnings, the Civil Rights era only to rot/die on bridges in the wealthiest country in the world.
Votes don't count...
But they sure voted for us the younger generation...
Hope no one takes me wrong here, I know this is a in general blog and meant for people to dialogue in which my comments are for the many who don't believe in voting and to encourage those that do to vote and spread the word.
I was in a family Bible class last Thur night and I mentioned to a family financial planner that there won't be anyone to invest and praying only goes so far with people that are being too passive.
On average, people won't be able to invest, they will be worrying about finding jobs, paying for gas and grieving lost loved ones...
