Okay my people.....I have been following the immigration issues that the country has currently been debating. A lot of people are highly angry at the Latinos that have come into this country and made a home for themselves, especially black people. I, for one, am not mad at them. Yes this may come as a shock to most, but I say 'Don't hate the player, hate the game'. Now before everyone reading this get bent out of shape, we must realize a few key pointers:
1. The jobs that most black people will not take, the latinos will. Okay, so who wants to work in a wherehouse all day, packing boxes for 7.00/hr? I sure wouldn't, but while I was looking for a job fresh out of school and being a single parent, I took a job like this. I didn't have child support or help from my mother or father.....I had to do something. Most of us think that we are too good for jobs like that, but in the bible it states, ' he who does not work, does not eat.' Sometimes you are not going to get that dream job( I still don't have that dream job!), but you should work towards something and not just sit around complaining about how 'these mexicans are taking all of the jobs.'
2) The Latinos know how to pull resources! Yes we talk about how 10-15 mexicans will pile up in one car just to get to work or how 20 of them will stay in one house, but actually they are building towards something bigger than what we see with the naked eye. They are making sure that everyone single person that is in the household and able are able to get their home or car. They will put in on food for the household and of course the rent is cheap with all the people living their, so that they can save up for their own.
3) They support their own!!! They have their own restaurants, grocery stores/convience stores, clothing stores, and clubs. They shop in their own stores....and support their own.....if you notice every once in a while some Latinos may be out among the public shopping in grocery stores and some clothing stores, but for the most part they support their own!!!! A few of us will try, but for the most part we go to everyone else but us.......
4) They STICK together!!!! I noticed, when I worked in the wherehouse, that whenever the Lations would have demands, only one would speak! Everyone would agree with the spokesperson and that would be it. I also noticed that black people were stepping on one another to get to the next level. Black went out of their way to step on one another to get the other fired and for what, 7 or 8 dollars/hr.
I brought these points out to say this, there is a reason why we are no longer the number 1 minority in America anymore. Every other race has the principle of togetherness, except for us. Think about...and let it marinate. Then think about what you could do to change that!
