Every afternoon on my way home from work, I listen to The Michael Baisden show on 103.5 in Memphis, TN. Now for those of you who are familiar with the nationally syndicated show, topics in all areas of life are discussed on this show. Now a few of my friends are not too keen on the show, but what I like about the show is that Michael makes you think and brings a different point of view to the table each and everytime to keep his listeners on their toes. (This is why I enjoy Mr. Foster's comments as well........I don't always agree, but he stands for something) At any rate, one afternoon, Michael discussed females and males who will not allow their mates to go out with their boys or their girls......actually he was really discussing the sisters more so than the brothers. I know ladies that many of us have insecurities, but sometimes we can get a little ridiculous. For instance, one of my partners I grew up with just recently got married last May. Well, before he got married, his fiancee had issues with him talking to his female friends as a matter of fact, she still does and going out with the fellas...that is totally out of the question. Of course I am not saying that men should abandon their families to, but ladies come on....let your man go to a footbal game with is boys.....let him got to a poker party or watch the playoffs at the local sportsbar with his homeboys. Marriage and relationships cannot truly flourish if you cannot trust your mate and if the trust is gone(without just cause) then it was never really there to begin with. Trust is a major issue that many people face everyday and before we enter relationships I think that we should examine ourselves. Space is a very healthy part of a relationship. I know when I get married, there is no way I can be up under my husband...whoever he may be....all day long. Let your man go work out at the gym before dinner, let him go camping with his cousins! And ladies we want to be able to hang out with the girls....so let the brothas go and have a good time.
