One of my favorite movies would have to be the Best Man. I remember how Morris Chestnut's character was very proud of his fiancee because he thought that she was perfect woman because he thought that she had only been with him and noone else. Now if we all remember for those of us who saw the movie.......He was a star football player who had pretty much banged anything in a skirt because he could and would always end up in trouble with his fiancee..then girlfriend because she would find out about his s*xual activities with other women. However his fiancee was not perfect and had in fact slept with the best man when they were in college to get back at her cheating boyfriend and when he found out he acted like a raging lunatic....although he had slept with many women throughout their relationship. Of course he took his fiancee as his wife and they lived happily ever after...but how many of us expect the same thing. Yes GOD has ordained someone out there for each and every one of us, but I wonder how many of the divorcees out there have probably blocked the people that were ordained to be in the position of your former spouse. When we go into relationships, I also think that we expect a person to be one way and do not realize that no one is perfect. For instance, when Halle Berry found out that Eric Benet was a s*x addict and how many women he had been with..she rolled. Now I understand that it was hard for her to accept what he had done, I would have but at the same time...He is not perfect and I am not sure that she went into the relationship with that frame of mind....now I know that I probably would not have been able to handle that particular situation, but we honestly need to reevaluate our definition of perfection. I am almost certain that most of us have not been the perfect mate in any relationship be it a parent/child, brother/sister, friendship, boyfriend/girlfriend or even husband/wife. Yes it is good to have high expectations and set high standards for a relationship, but we should go into any situation realizing that all have fallen and come short of the glory of God......think about it.
