Welcome to the World Famed Tiger Blogging Dude...ok...that rip from the World Famed Tiger Marching Band didn't work. Anywho, welcome to The Blogger. I'm back with some more...
Poor Bush. Imagine traveling to a country and being greeted by people burning your flag. Well...he's lucky that he wasn't in USA. Apparently, people have finally seen what I've seen for the longest: Bush is not an efficient President. CNN/USA Today reported that Bush's approval rating was down to 37%. Technically, that means 34% - 40% of people polled believe that he is inefficient as a President.
It's still hard to believe that Bush got re-elected into office. SO many people were against him, but when the time came, they voted for him. It's completely weird to hear these people complain now, after countless people warned them that Bush was not trustworthy. We're talking about a man who goes on vacation whenever he feels like it, instead of working like he's supposed to.
These foreign trips are like vacations. He doesn't work as much, but he still gets to relax and enjoy a free trip. For example, I went to the HBCU Newspaper Conference (where I also got to meet the hard-working staff of HBCUConnect!), and it was a relaxing trip, even though I did do some work. So, if Bush goes overseas, it should be considered a vacation unless he actually WORKS. Yes, he did have a deal signed with India about nuclear power (which I disagree with), but it happened too quickly to be something that was drawn up when he got there.
Now, if you haven't heard, this new nuclear deal with India will have the US sharing nuclear power secrets as well as providing nuclear fuel. In return, India will have international inspectors visit their nuclear sites and provide nuclear energy to the US. I'm disappointed that this deal was structured, because India does have a history of detonating nuclear weapons. In 1998, India started a race for arms due to the fact that they tested a new nuclear weapon. Yet, here we are in 2006, eight years later, and we now have a nuclear deal. How long do you want to bet that India won't use these nuclear secrets to construct new weapons?
Well...it's finally over. The Olympics ended in all of its glory, with the US taking home 25 total medals. That's pretty good, considering Germany took home the highest, 29. I really enjoyed watching the Olympics this year, something I've never really done. I guess I like the Winter Olympics better than the Summer (Summer Olympics are not as cool KeKe Rogers!). I enjoyed seeing the US win their first curling medal (bronze) and I also enjoyed the speed skating races as well. The Olympics were cool, and I really enjoyed them. If you didn't watch any of it, you missed out on a lot!
I caught College Hill the other night...and that was...interesting. There's going to be a lot of tension in the house, as Bianca is THE s*x symbol in the house. I'm not really feeling Bianca too much, but I am feeling Audrina the most. She's cute and she's smart. I hope she doesn't do anything dumb to mess up the image I have of her. Arlando seems like a cool dude, even though his frat brother almost got his tail kicked.
QUICKIES
- The New Orleans Hornets dropped an amazing 16 points in the second half of a game this week. Wow...I've never seen anyone do that bad at scoring before...sad...
- Eddie Guerrero, Bret Hart, and Mean Gene Okerlund will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Very good selection, even though I still would've favored the late, great Owen Hart to be inducted as well.
- I am now a Tahitian Noni Juice distributor. You can check out the website at
www.tni.com/darryldsmith or e-mail me at darryldsmith@gmail.com for more information. Noni juice is a health drink that cleanses the body of wastes, diseases, and other things.
- Madea's Family Reunion pulled a Ludacris and took the #1 spot this past weekend. I may get a chance to go see it this weekend. I don't know yet. Seems like a better movie than Diary of a Mad Black Woman, a movie I didn't like since it was an EXACT duplicate of the play with added scenes...
That's it for this edition. I'll try to have one for you to read next week, but it depends on how busy I am! Have a great weekend, and don't let the bird flu hit you...
