Dallas, Tex. - Bishop College alum and president of the Bishop College Alumni Association, Bobby Moten, was inducted into the Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame (TBSPHOF) class of 2012 on Saturday. Moten joined a highly distinguished group, which includes "two multiple Super Bowl champions, a Heisman Trophy winner, and a former 'Fastest Man in the World'", according to the TBSHOF. This is the hall of fame's 17th class. Bishop College once occupied the grounds in South Dallas where Paul Quinn College is currently located.

Moten played football for Bishop, making his mark as an all-conference tight end. He earned distinction when he was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons, making him only the third Bishop player to ever be drafted into the NFL. In high school, Moten was a four-letter, double all-state athlete.

Other members of the class of 2012 include: Chadwick Brown, current NFL official; Tim Brown, Heisman Trophy winner and NFL Hall of Famer; Charles Haley, five-time NFL Super Bowl champion; Jim Hines, once the "Fastest Man in the World" and 1968 Olympics Gold Medal winner; Lori McNeil, former tennis great; Horatio Porter, former Texas college track and field stand-out; George "Jake" Roland, late Texas basketball coaching legend; Tommie Smith, 1968 Olympics Gold Medal winner; and Eugene "Gene" Upshaw, late NFL Hall of Famer and former executive director of the NFL Players Association.
