bored with your spouse

Adrian Jackson · Tuesday, July 5th 2005 at 10:39PM · 323 views
i need some support from the hbcu connect when i say has anyone ever felt bored with their spouse. u look back on when yall first hooked up and see that yall had all types of fun going places and doin stuff that entertained just the both of you. but now u look at your relationship and feel like u have had enough time together and also feel that u two have done everything and there is nothing else for u two to do. this makes me look at marriage at a totally different perspective. big ups to everyone who has been married more than 20 years. if this applies to your parents congradulate them and appreciate yourself and them for staying as a family for so long, because i do every chance i get.

TRUE LOVE .... NEVER RUNS OUT.. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE soMETHING TO DO, SOMETHING TO SAY, PLAcES TO GO, I mean the whole point of marriage is not to say ok this a person who I can MAYBE SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH. I mean if you go into marriage lookin at it that way thats going to be your outcome. Now of course there are some marriages that just grow apart naturally, but for the most part it's supposed to be unbreakable and unconditional....

Well, I've been with my husband for over 17 years. I can say that there will be rough times, but the good times definitely outweight those. We have done many, many things but there are still things we have planned to do in the future. Love never runs out. We make it a point to still go out on dates. We have jobs, kids, church and everything else on our minds all day long so we have to take time out for just us. I always tell him that it's time for us to go out so we can see if we still like each other. That keeps us fresh. My prayers always include asking God to keep my marriage fresh, keep my desire for my husband growing and help me to love my husband as He would love him (unconditionally and despite any flaws). It works! Marriage is definitely a good thing and a long marriage is even better. It's nothing like feeling comfortable all the time.
