First of all, by now everyone has heard about Jennifer Wilbanks. The lying, scheming, neurotic, psychotic, female, right? The lying, scheming, neurotic, psychotic "WHITE" female!
America's 'runaway bride'. She duped an entire state out of thousands of dollars. She duped an entire nation into believing that she had been abducted by a 'white female' and an 'hispanic' male who not only raped her, but, 'cut her hair'! She humiliated her fiance' on national television. She cost her parents and his parents an untold amount of money with wedding expenses, etc. She abused tax-payers dollars. I could go on and on, but, I'm sure you know the story.
After all of this 'drama', she receives a tap on the wrist by the State of Georgia AND she continues to take up air-time on major networks.
Also, to add insult to injury she is being 'rewarded' for her insidious actions to the tune of, get this, $500,000!! $500,000!!!!!
Now, tell me, what if Jennifer Wilbanks were an African-American female??? Same scenario....'psychotic', 'neurotic', etc., etc.
She would have been arrested AS SOON AS she admitted to lying and perpetrating a crime. She would have been booked AND, stay with me, sentenced MAXIMUM jail time!!! The judge would have used her case to send this MESSAGE: 'Ain't' no person (meaning Black person) going to take advantage of MY state and the tax-payers in my state. We're not going to tolerate the misuse and abuse of our State's monies'. Yada, Yada, Yada!
Oh! Oh! And a Book deal? A movie deal? She'd be fortunate if she could ever be on "Let's Make A Deal!" And I don't even know if that game show is still on the air!
If Jennifer Wilbanks were African-American there is NO WAY!!! she would be paid half a million dollars for 'acting a fool'. Ya'll know that's exactly what she did. Acted, as my grandmother used to say, a 'plum' fool.
So, what can we extrapolate from this horrific mockery of justice? Well, we can, for one thing, accept the fact that 'Lady Liberty's' invitation to freedom hasn't yet been extended to Black folk. Her torch that illuminates a welcoming light to 'freedom refugees'
has yet to shine upon us as a people.
African-Americans ARE the 'tired', we ARE the 'poor',
We ARE the 'huddled masses yearning to breathe free'.*

And another thing...Isn't it time we heard more about Tamika Huston? This "African-American" female has gone missing for over a year now. Why hasn't she received the same 'national' broadcasting coverage as Jennifer Wilbanks, America's First Lady of Crime???
