The Vision’s About You - Just Sayin (2634 hits)

Good evening Connect Platform community, it’s a pleasure to see you. Thank you for stopping by Just Sayin.

I’ll do my best to speak proper American today. Seems a little thuggin caused a little confusion, particularly among the wonderful people I met for the first time yesterday. One of my new friends asked if I was educated, a thug, a gang banger or what? His question made me wonder why when it comes to other people we’ve a tendency to assume coins have only one side? For the record, I am not OG; I’m not even OG wanna- be. I am a mother; my kids span in age from 31 to 16; I’ve tried to learn/speak their languages, largely because my mother didn’t speak mine. The gap cost us years; more, it severely limited her ability to protect me from the predators in my home, the world and my mind. I’m not blaming; life neither protected her nor taught her to protect, and my disrespectful resentments only stifled any tentative nurturings. Two out of three times I’ve succeeded; that doesn’t mean they always follow my suggestions, or even my directives. It does mean we have the ability to hear and therefore truly consider what each other has to say. I don’t know about you, but I call that victory.

That brings me to my point. I realize I’m relatively new around here; so correct me if I’m wrong. But isn’t open, honest dialog what all the Connect Platform Networks are about? Are we not all gathered here to foster individual/collective growth and understanding? Was that a resounding YES I just heard? I’ve found exquisite gifts of love, hope and encouragement here; these networks overflow with determination to manifest overflow and dominion. The energy is contagious and powerful. It is out of you, Connect Platform family, and for you that Just Sayin was born. I’d like to say that it is my gift to you, but in truth, it is your gift to me, Know I am grateful.

That said, here’s the vision. I see Just Sayin as a way to show-case the awesome contributions of members across the Connect Platform networks. This expands our ability to connect with and support each other. I also see this as a venue to broaden the lines of communication among us. African America is fractured across age, color, religious and political lines. I’m only giving voice to a historical and current reality. Contributing to and supporting the members featured in Just Sayin takes a brick out of the illusionary wall between us and makes a powerful statement that Connect Platform members are dedicated to turning our diversity into new and exciting community, dare I say nation, building opportunity. Who know but we may even grow our individual/collective prosperity in the process. Anyway, that’s how I see this seedling you’ve planted. Just Sayin.
