"Set the Standard"
Luke 6:31
In everything I do, I try my best to set a standard that others behind me will follow, even with the most trivial of tasks. For example, at work, when I am coordinating a meeting in one of our conference rooms, I am responsible for not only setting up the room, but also for the clean up of the room after my meeting is done. Usually, this involves removing materials and disposing of any trash from refreshments or food that was served. This, by all accounts, is the minimum requirement. But I am one of the few who goes a step further; after all of my meetings, I retrieve soap and water and wipe down all the tables so that it could never be disputed that the room was not clean. My co-workers have watched me perform this routine many times. I am hopeful I am setting a standard.
When you do for others as Christ commands, you are setting a standard. People will see the Christ in you when you have that attitude. As followers of Christ, we must be wary of this at all times. Truth be told, our actions and lives may be the only Bible that some people read.

BLACK HISTORY TRIVIA:
Congratulations to Beverly Imes, who was the first with the correct answer, Fannie M. Jackson. I apologize if you were thrown off; this was not the correct fact for the day and I apologize. However, Beverly caught my mistake and e-mailed the correct answer. Here is today's question: Ronald Brown was the first African American to hold this position in politics. What position did he hold and what year was he appointed to that position?
