On Rich American People Being Racist (498 hits)

Dear Friend,
Every time I have a discussion about Rich People being racist and protecting their racism through governmental institutions with someone who is just making ends meet they do not believe me. I get an automatic Oprah Winfrey or Barack Obama response-proving racism doesn’t exist any more in America. When I further explain to the person that the overwhelming majority of rich and super-Rich people in the world are white males of European descendants and our President, George Bush who is a white male and the US Congress which is predominantly white males give huge tax breaks to the Super-Rich, why don’t they see that these tax breaks are institutional favoritism and therefore institutional white male racism? Your help is greatly needed making this point clear to other people. Thanks.

I agree that those in power go to extraordinary means to protect their wealth and influence. Wealth in the United States is created mainly by two vehicles: non-taxable inheritance, and ownership in business interests (corporate ownership, securities etc.)

These things are very difficult to achieve if one does not alreay have them, or plenty of capital to acquire them. Which explains why wealthy families usually remain that way, in addition to better access to education, networking opportunities, and so on.

I think that we should examine those processes and use them to our own advantage - creating and investing in family-owned businesses, teaching our children how to network and build relationships with other successful people, and providing education for ourselves outside of the public school system (which America's elite has been doing successfully for years).
