On the Move (37393 hits)

Believe it or not, I love cosmetology school, but I have been on a leave of absence for the past six months because of my other commitments. That is the main reason why I am at the Paul Mitchell School. They allow me to go as much as I can, whenever I can.

I can do hair very well. When my mom was alive she would show me how to do little things with hair - she actually showed me how to do braids when I was 5 years old. I guess you could say I was a kitchen-tician for years before I decided to go to cosmetology school.

I can do relaxers, braids, flat iron, weaves, perms and some color. I want to complete my cosmetology license because I want to incorporate my abilities into my mission with the V.I.P. foundation because I would love to be able to go to different shelters and give the women a make-over. I would love to be able to help other women who have been through situations that have diminished their self-esteem and help them repair it – A good hairstyle and a cute outfit can make you feel wonderful.

Meanwhile, we might be moving to L.A... Eddie thinks that we may have to relocate or purchase a home in California because he is there so much for work. I like Los Angeles, but I don’t love it, plus it is so far away from my family and friends I would be miserable! We might have to live in two different cities. What do you think?

But honestly, I can honestly say that I had a wonderful time in Los Angeles the last time I went with my husband. As long as I’m there with my family I guess can learn to love it more.

Peace, Taj

Hi Taj!

I really love the show. You are such a beautiful person both inside and out.! I do understand your desire to remain in Nashville (I am a TSU alum and lived there a couple of years before moving to Atlanta). However, I think it would be best to move with your husband to LA and make the best of it for now. I share your sentiments about LA (as my husband is from there), but more importantly you, Eddie, and Eriq will be together as a family.

When Eddie's assignment is complete, you can always move back :-). Take care and continue to be an inspiration.

Hi Taj,
Just want to say that I love your show and want to thank you and George (as well as the creators of the show) for showing that an African American family does not have to be dysfunctional or negative. I've been a fan of your music and SWV for years (when i was teen listening to the radio) and am just really happy to see that you're doing well. God Bless you and your fam.

I love the show and I am glad to see another side of a famous couple that I can relate too. I am happy to see that you are a very down to earth person, as well as a uplifting black woman. I never see you trying to be something you aren't. I like that you show, famous wives and husbands are regular people too. Keep up the good work. But Taj, you must increase your cooking skills for you man and son. Just ask G. Garvin to give you a few tips, so you can have more of a variety of dishes. Believe me you will be proud to learn because you didn't have too, but you want too.

Hey Taj, I understand completely about the moving to LA thing. I lived there all my life and not I am in Riverside it just an hour out of LA so i can still visit everyone and then come back home and relax. Maybe you two can consider moving just a hour or so out of LA. I also want to say I love the show and God bless you and your family.

Hi Taj, I love your show. I watch every episode even when I'm out I program the VCR so I won't miss it. You and Eddie are a beautiful couple and have a loving relationship. I love how you are so down to earth and that's wonderful everyone gets to see your inner beauty. So you can't help but to love Taj and Eddie also. God Bless, and he will help you make the right decision on your move to California.

Hey there! I stumbled across your show today. I was pleasantly surprised and encouraged to see a positive portrayal of love, trust and friendship in an african american marriage. Not many of us have the privilege of experiencing the type of unconditional love it appears the two of you share. Thank you for reminding us all that it does exist. God bless you!

I catch all the repeats on Thursday evenings. I grew up with SWV, my favority song is WEAK. TAJ and Eddie are such a sweet couple. TAJ is REAL, lets her hair down and loves to have fun. I really didn't know to much about TAJ during the SWV early years but I am loving the show and the warmth that TAJ gives to everyone. Eddie is crazy. TAJ and Eddie are friends that what makes them so sweet.
TAJ keep up the good work! Eddie I took the GMAT years ago and I still have a headache.

I too love your show; especially the theme song (I recently learned all of the words). It reminds me of my husband; although, we are not well- to-do. WE ARE, HOWEVER, BLESSED! As far as your move is concerned, I don't think that you would ever live in a different city than your husband, judging by your interaction and commentary. I realize that you were expressing yourself. I can relate. My husband often speaks of moving to another city, and I am not in favor. I would much rather go for a business opportunity than just a change of scenery. I have been to Nashville {LOVED IT}, and I did say that if I had to move to another city, Nashville would be my first choice. Philadelphia [I KNOW EDDIE IS A HOMETOWN CAT] is where we both grew up, and our closest relatives and friends are here. I would be reluctant to leave that behind. So, I know how you feel. Your entitled to your misgivings. I know you and your husband will work it out. Keep the faith!

Hello Taj,

Two weeks ago I discovered "I Married A Baller" through a magazine ad, and what a wonderful treat! Thank you for sharing your life with us. On that note, I saw the "Deja Vu" episode for the first time last night. There was one point where you all discussed your relationship with Katrina. Please don't let that relationship interfere with your beautiful marriage. You and Eddie display Black Love to the fullest, and I would hate to see it break apart because of 'friends'. Most importantly, keep God first. Thanks, again.

Hello Taj,

*Positive, funny, and down to earth... Your show is so refreshing. I love it!!!

*About the move...let's just say at the end of the day just as long as you are w/ the ones you love and you BOTH put your trust in God...that's all that matters.

*But you know...you and George are always welcome to come back to Orlando, Florida...just a few miles from
Gator Country(ha,ha,ha)!

Much Love and Peace!!!

I just wanted to say I love your show "I Married a Baller", I am older than Taj and Eddie, but it was refreshing every Saturday night to watch it and then I watch it on reruns also. You two look so good together and truly look like you love each other and you say it to each other. I watch the 6/17 show and it must have been the season finale, and I was sad to see it ended. I hope you all come back with new episodes. It really was true fun to watch you all, especially how he was there for you when Shannon died and then I saw the love between the two of you when you were doing the belly dancing class. I especially love also when you all were on the bridge promising to come back every two years. Good Luck to you two and your family and keep the love between you two. A fan always.

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy watching the show each week. It's such a breath of fresh air to see a healthy and loving black relationship especially with celebrities involved. This show is very classy and tasteful, unlike other celeb. reality shows. Whatever city you all live in, just stay close by each other, and treasure every moment together. Best wishes.

Hi Taj,

I really enjoy what you are doing with V.I.P. We as women need to really tell our testimonies about our past because i feel it can help another individual. I want to know how i can get my own group started, my God i have a story to tell at young age. If you have time could you share some info with me? Have a blessed day and may God bless you and your family.

P.S. Eriq and Jaire are so handsome!

First off, I just want to say I love this show sooo much! You and Eddie are my inspiration and give me hope. Taj, please listen to your man and react postively when he says that he wants you to confide in him more instead of your best friend. Last week episode, he stated what he wasn't happy about concerning you and your best friend. The way you reacted to his thoughts on the matter made it seem like it wasn't a big deal. I truly want to see your love & marriage withstand the test of time. I pray that as time passes that your love for each other grows deeper and that God blesses your marriage abundantly. Thank you for allowing us to view your family. God Bless!!!

Hi Taj!!!

It"s Britki AKA Unique from the play "If Loving You is Wrong...I Don't Want to Be Right". My mother told me about your show. I'm so glad to see that you are doing well, I ask Linda Turner about you all the time. I live in the ATL now and no I have not made a CD yet, But I am working on it. All I need is a little help but you know how it is... if you don't know anyone to pull you in it's hard to get in. Kathy'lee your "god-daughter" is now 6 yrs old the boys are tall and they are all very smart, and doing well in school. I am not sure if you will get this but if you do, call me girl, (smile) 678-789-9844 or email me briktibutler@yahoo.com

Hey Taj, from an older womans perspective, I think you should follow your husbands lead. A man is known being a risk taker in everything he does along with challenges. The most important thing is when in a marriage, the husband is considered a leader who will lead his wife down the right path, and your role is to be there for him for better or worse or good or bad. So please, follow your husbands path and enjoy the journey he is willing to take. You only live once. Last, sometimes when things dont make sense, you'll never know until you find out. :-)

Hey Taj,

It's enjoyable to view a show that shows what "True, BLACK love is all about!" The episode with your dog, touched me so....I lost a dog years back, but I was lucky to have one of puppies. Keep up the good work and may God bless your marriage!

Hi-Taj! Move to LA! We just moved back from Spokane, WA! I hated it there! I had no family and no one wanted to be friends with me! It took me twoyears tomeet people. LA is a much friendlier place. Plus you have already been here helping people. It will be hard at first but you will fit in! I know how you feel about your family not being in the same town as you! But I guess it was different for me because me and my family are not close! I can say I miss them but I notice that I've grown up. You have a great support system in Eddie. And you will alwyays have SWV! It's hard to give someone like you advice. Because yes, I agree it will be hard because of your family but you go through changes when you make a move like this. Good luck to you on this.
