DURHAM, NC -- Three North Carolina Central University Lady Eagles scored in double-figures as NCCU (9-5, 4-3 CIAA) defeated Saint Augustine's College 75-63 inside McLendon-McDougald Gymnasium on Saturday.
All-time NCCU scoring leader Cassie King scored a game-high 17 points, shooting 80 percent (8-of-10) from the field, while freshman guard Jasmine Newkirk contributed 11 points, five rebounds and five assists and sophomore forward LaQuanda Williams added 15 points and eight rebounds.
SAC (4-10, 3-5 CIAA) was topped by Terrica Morris, who amassed 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting, and senior forward Rakenya Hayes, who scored 14 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
The Lady Eagles return to action Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 5:30 p.m. inside McLendon-McDougald Gymnasium as they face the Lady Blue Bears of Livingstone College.
