Funny thing happened today. I came across a piece of news about an old friend. It seems a girl who had an innocent crush (her Mom told me) on someone "I Know" has popped up in the news. Now this girl was a cutie back then, but she was like 9 or 10 years younger than "the person i know" in college. So it was almost funny when i found out that she had a crush on "this guy". Well, I found out actually last night, that this girl was a top 10 finalist in the Miss America pageant AND the first African-American Miss Georgia AND an HBCU alumnus! She grew up (and out). Now can we guess who her crush was? But respectfully, she's a beautiful woman and is truly the embodiement of a queen. Congratulations Danica. Tell your mom and dad I said hello and i think you're old enough for us to go out now... ahem.
Danica Tisdale, one of the top ten finalists in the 2005 Miss America pageant, will be the speaker for the President's Opening Convocation on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2:40 p.m. in the Morehouse Auditorium, Doxey Center. Tisdale made history when she became the first black woman to win the Miss Georgia (Miss Georgia 2004) pageant. The Spelman College graduate earned a master's degree from Temple University in Philadelphia and is currently working on a Ph.D. in English at Emory University.
