What about Women’s Lib? (83 hits)

“Better late then never,” as the saying goes.

I thought of this cliché after viewing one of those infotainment news shows on one of cable’s entertainment networks. The show, not the issue, it was one of the topics being discussed that stirred me to repugnance.

The ol’ “Red Carpet” spectacular that has star struck fans and paparazzi exhilarated to the point of hysteria to catch a glimpse and/or photo of a STAR.

Up to a certain point, nothing that was aired shocked me, that is until that scene wherein a world-renowned rapper made his entrance with two females – No problem, right? Wrong!

The two females were scantly clothed in black leather outfits with those sought after accessories, COLLARS AND COORDINATING LEASHES!

What the heck?

I was not only mortified, but also I felt as though someone was trying to deliver a subliminal message that women were less than human and shouldn’t be allowed to vote because their views are irrelevant.

Artistic freedom or true thoughts revealed? We could probably hold a forum of debate on that subject, but I’m sure the varying views would persist.

Then, I remembered someone during that particular take, asked the question, “Where’d he find those girls?” And as though someone was really listening, I shouted out, “Yeah where?”

On the other hand, I know from certain real life experiences listening and observing others, that that star and others looking for someone to do their bidding, never has to look far to accomplish their goal of dehumanizing any gender or ethnic group – It’s called MONEY.

You don’t have to agree with me, but money speaks way louder than morals in the humanistic natural scheme of things. And, some might add that mind-altering substances aid in the degradation of a certain group, but moreover, in my opinion, the bottom line is the moola, or promise of it, that is all it would take to bring about negative behavior.

So, I couldn’t bring myself to think lowly of those females who had seemingly voluntarily subjected themselves to such a public spectrum of bewilderment. And, I suppose that the phrase, “Don’t hate the player, hate the game,” would be more along the lines of disapproval. I, however, don’t hate anyone or anything, so my version of that phrase would go – “Don’t [dislike] the player, [dislike] the game.” I just don’t care for the game of degrading anyone, just based on the premise that one can. RESPECT works both ways. So, as for respecting someone, I give as good as I get.

Where do we, the people, draw the line? Or is it simply a matter of – Who cares?

OK, "dislike" the game. Cute. I agree with you. People tend to serve money instead of viceversa. Yea, it takes money to do some things, but it's only a resource to fund a vision. People make it the whole vision! Not sure where the line is drawn. We have to care.
