The Citizen Group of Companies a LLC headquartered in temporary office space in downtown Detroit, Michigan is seeking Letters of Intent to acquire a mega server and warehouse space for Michigan's first Internet Service Provider captained by an African American.
Mr. Foster is trying to infuse technology across the diversity spectrum into the homes of those who according to statistics do not have a computer or internet connection in their home (African Americans and Hispanics who make under the national average in per capita income).
MI.DigiTel (Michigan Digital or MyDigial) is a subsidiary of the Citizen Group of Companies and is spearheading the new dot.com Mr. Foster says
“The idea of our launch and how it differs from AOL for example is: Firstly; AOL does not cater to first time computer buyers per se. Yet, we are catering to these prospective customers to "foster development." When African American and Hispanics bring technology into their homes the digital divide will diminish. The Technology Gaps is a direct result of this population being overlooked as potential customers because of their lack of education and earning power. Ideally, when single parent/head of households in Detroit, Clevleland, Chicago, Philadelphia, D.C. acquire one of our touchstone (standard) desktops (they will come bundled with internet access for 24 months). As a result, the customer will acquire a productiy machine that will come loaded with the MS Suite of Software (Professional Edition) with a dual DVD/CD Rom Drive, ISB Ports, and floppy drive for around $700.00. We will professionally install the computers and wire the internet connection to either their cable or an ISDN line. Again, instead of selling the computer without and ISP or selling I.S. without a computer it will come bundled. All computers will be the same. We are in negotiation with IBM to obtain IBM certified used Intellistations with a 24 month warranty.
The project is designed to capitalize on Governor Jennifer Granholm’s Michigan First program that seeks to leverage its organizational capacity by networking with national firms that will spur economic recovery in the Great Lake State, and segue the working poor and into more dynamic productive citizens (now a single parent who could not divide their time away from home with higher educational pursuits will be able to take classes online and persue a B.A. or B.S. degree from the comfort their confines).
Mr. Foster has been in contact with IBM and the all new Tech-Town (a new technology corrdior in Detroit liken to Silcon Valley or RTP in North Carolina).
Mr. Foster is a product of the Detroit Public School’s Southeastern H.S. He graduated Cum Laude in American History from North Carolina Central University with a minor in Government and recently was a graduate student in the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies at the University of Michigan seeking a MPA degree.
