*Some one asked me to blog on this quite some time ago and I just remembered via their past comments. Aplogies, not done on purpose, no over looking, just been busy in varied things I am doing and time flew*
*Feel free to add comments and opinions as I start out with what I presently think is best by using the Bible Dictionary definition on this word*
LIE: Any statement or act designed to deceive another person. The motivation for most lying is a desire either to hurt the one against whom the "LIE" is directed (Gen 3:1-13; Rom 3:13) or to protect oneself, usually out of fear or pride (*This is a whole paradigm of meanings by itself*). Look at Matt 26:69-75; Acts 5:1-11).
Lying is emphatically condemned in the Bible (Ex 20:16; Eph 4:25). It is wrong because it is contrary to the nature of God (Titus 1:2; Heb 6:18) and because it shows a person is not in touch with reality (Rom 1:25; 1 John 1:6).
On the other hand, it is possible to be truthful with the intention of hurting another person. The Bible teaches believers to be truthful in love (Eph 4:25).
*I want to add a twist here by stating we have all lied before. Also what is the grey area i.e. Some Germans hid people to save their lives and lied to Nazi's (I meant to post a Daily Bread Read that expounded on this that I thought was deep and considered not a lie and I will look this one up)? Also I want to add the scriptures of Deu 23:21-23. The scriptures state that any thing You say is a vow off Your tongue to God and that if You don't do You have broke an oath to God thus You have lied. Example?
Lets say I tell my Nieces and Nephews I am coming over to hang out with them one Friday and I forget and ended up hanging out, well I meant no harm, I forgot but according to this scripture it was a lie because I said I would and it did not happen.
People do this often, some without negative intent meant/well-meaning. Further clarify?
Many people in the world email and end their emails with i.e. "ttyl", I'll hit ya back" etc.(Casual thing to say, really mean to do it, no intentions?) If not done according to scriptures is this a lie or according to well-meaning is this not a lie?
The Bible says we will be judged by a book on each and everyone of us on everything we have done or not done.
Now please take in mind not to go past paranoid on this. God knows things come up, circumstances change, people come and go for many reasons etc.
I just wanted to add in some factors for further clarity at a site where EVERY ONE HAS BEEN LIED ON BEFORE, SOME MORE THAN OTHERS, SOME AFFECTED MORE, SOME LESS ETC. How did You feel outside of what one can normally assume and how did You deal with it. Most broken homes and all generational curses or family problems grew from lies...
By the way, I am typing in word perfect some articles that I truly believe are awesome to be dissected for the benefit of people. They are long but I feel are deep. I will copy paste them here when I have done them. For some I feel they will be very Eye opening and very beneficial thus the time and effort I use to type them and post them in front of my own personal Articles.
I feel they are very timely and not coincidental with some deep blogs I have seen here posted recently...
Peace
Luv
