Apply Now For the Nyra Renee Shaw-Hemphill Memorial Scholarship Fund (15773 hits)

Applications are now open for the 2020 Nyra Renee Shaw-Hemphill Memorial Scholarship. This memorial fund was started to honor the memory of a beloved only child and daughter by her mother, supporting family, and friends. Nyra passed away of a congenital heart disease while participating in an on-campus activity on October 3, 2019, at the tender age of 20-years-old.

Soon after her daughter's transition, the mother wanted to honor her memory by supporting students like her - those who do not have the perfect GPA and therefore fly under the radar for a number of scholarships.

There are two (2) separate scholarship awards with different criteria. Please check out the options and apply to the one (or both) that best suits you.

Scholarship A Criteria
- 2.0 GPA or Higher
- Accepted to a Four Year Degree Program at an HBCU
- Full-Time Student Status
- Single Parent Household
- Income Less than $80,000
- High School Senior in Hamilton County, Ohio

Scholarship B Criteria
- 2.25 GPA or Higher
- Accepted to Tuskegee University for a 4 Year Degree
- Full-Time Status
- Single Parent Household
- Income Less than $80,000
- A United States Citizen | Resident

Application instructions also include filling out a form, writing an essay, and providing a letter of reference. To view complete eligibility requirements and all supporting materials that you need to provide, visit https://www.nyrarshawscholarship.org/.
