America's Great Wealth Was Built Off Slavery (1047 hits)

Chicago along with Detroit, Philadelphia, Oakland and Berkley, has recently passed the Slave Era Disclousre Ordinance . The city of New York has it in committee. This ordiance requires companies who want to do business with the cities must disclose if thier company or any predecessor company has ties to the slave instution. JP Morgan Chase, Lehman Brothers and Wachovia are a few companies to admit their ties.
What do y'all think about all this.

I'm confused... hope i dont sound stupid, but do they mean ties to slavery from back in tha day or slavery still going on today? Very interesting stuff...just a little confused, could u clear it up for me? Thanks!
