For Immediate Release From National Blue Ribbon Schools!
Founded by the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart in 1937, Christ the King School (CKS) has a proud tradition of uniting school, family, and faith. This third recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School reflects our mission to prepare students for active contributions to the Church and the greater community. With a strong emphasis on academics, CKS develops individual responsibility and nurtures the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual growth of each child.
A quick walk through campus shows a student body fully engaged in learning with an emphasis on STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts, and Math). Technology is thoroughly integrated into the classrooms, and emphasis on the arts has been enhanced by partnerships with local museums.
CKS cares about others and is proud of the 28 service projects that students support. In addition, over one-third of our families participate in CKS Serves, a family-based service outreach program that won national recognition from "Today’s Catholic Teacher" magazine in 2017.
Our process of continual evaluation and improvement has brought our school and parish communities together to implement a $30 million capital campaign to construct a new building. Scheduled to open in Fall 2019, it features middle school classrooms, two fully-equipped science labs, a regulation size gym, an art room/collaborative space, a music room, a news room, and numerous break-out spaces for collaborative work. CKS is excited about this growth and the opportunities it will provide the students, and that is reflected in this year's motto - Building Catholic Scholars.
