ABOUT THE NATIONAL CENTER
The ASU National Center for the Study of Civil Rights and African-American Culture focuses its efforts on documenting and preserving materials related to the Civil Rights Movement, as well as on researching the sociopolitical and cultural history of African-Americans. The National Center’s programs reach hundreds of local, regional, national and international visitors. National Center programs and activities augment classroom instruction and provide opportunities for the community to learn about the modern Civil Rights Movement through the Center’s living museum, scholarly seminars, publications, art shows and appearances of its personnel at public forums around Montgomery.
