Allen University Student Leaders Attend National Student Affairs Conference (845 hits)

Members of the Student Government Association attended the 64th Annual Conference of the National Association of Student Affairs Professionals(NASAP) February 15-18, 2018 in Charleston, South Carolina. Accompanying the students were Dr. Cynthia Sellers-Simon, Vice President for Student Affairs and a Past President of NASAP; and Dr. Flavia Eldemire, Director of Counseling and Placement.

During the conference, students met and interacted with student leaders from other colleges and universities. They also attended workshops and participated in activities that were designed to enhance their leadership skills. Additionally, our students had opportunities to hear and meet several motivational speakers, and had opportunities to meet student affairs professionals from other institutions of higher education.

According to Noluthando Ntsangani, SGA Vice President, It was such a great experience. I feel empowered! I'm grateful for the opportunity to represent my beloved HBCU Allen University. It was an honor and great privilege to be 1 of the 7 student leaders who were selected to represent our school at this conference. The conference was productive, empowering, fruitful and awesome! Special thanks to Dr. Cynthia Sellers-Simon, our VP for Student Affairs, for all that you do for students, and thank you for believing in us and for doing all you can to expose us to leadership training and opportunities that will help us in the future. I want to also thank President McNealey for making this trip possible. Your support is appreciated."
